Singing

Patrick studied singing under Henry Herford (Wikipedia) and Jeremy Huw Williams (Wikipedia) gaining ABRSM Grade 8 (with Distinction) in 2002. He continued performance studies and performed with the University Singers, Madrigals and Chamber Choir (including European tours) during his time at the University of Bristol.

Patrick teaches singing both in contemporary (broadway musical) and classical styles, covering repertoire from Handel to Puccini to Lloyd-Webber.

Composition

Patrick studied music at the University of Bristol (BA(Hons), 2006) followed by a MA in Composition of Music for Film & Television at Bristol, completed the following year.

He has written music for piano, small ensemble and orchestra, set texts for solo voice and choir including poems by A.P. Herbert and Lyndall Henning, and has also composed electroacoustic and electronic music for BULO and The British Touring Shakespeare Company.

Patrick has a studio at home catering for electronic (and sampled acoustic) music, recording & mastering (as well as video post-production). Film music composition students are welcome to book the studio for the sampled orchestra and mastering facilities.

Video Production

Tuition in video pre- and post-production is also available, making use of Patrick's studio, or students' own kit. Wiltshire College has extensive facilities for video production, which can be rented privately for in-depth masterclasses (either for individuals or groups).
